Criminal remedial legislation provides for the involvement of expert witnesses by the defense. Expert opinion is able to:
> prove the absence of damages caused (fact that a crime has been committed)
> considerably reduce the amount of damages if damage was actually sustained (re-determine the nature of the crime)
> prove the lawfulness and feasibility of actions committed by defendants and prisoners at the bar (finding not guilty)
> refute wrongful opinions given by expert witnesses in favor of preliminary investigation bodies and court.
> exclude forensic accounting testimony from evidence in the case
Among the main charge areas are preparing questions for forensic accounting expertise and the interrogation of expert witnesses, monitoring the whole trial in terms of admissibility and applicability of evidence related to economic matters and produced by the prosecution.
Experts may participate in criminal proceedings at both the preliminary investigation and trial stages and help attorneys and defendants (prisoners at the bar) choose the right line in defense.
